Teaming up with two great organisations at this year's Surface Design Show, Stand 424F

We're thrilled that the design quality of our panels has been recognised by two great organisations who will be promoting them at this years Surface Design Show in London.

Flux panels will be shown alongside others from Acoustic GRG Products, and they'll also be included in the RIBA CPD presentation, Guide to Office Acoustics, given by the Association of Interior Specialists. (Wed 8 Feb, 14:30-15:15 in the CPD Hub)

We couldn't ask for better endorsements.

Acoustic GRG Products have been making bespoke acoustic systems in the UK and exporting to Europe and America for over twenty years, and have worked on design and installation projects with some of the industry's most famous names and reputable companies.

As GRG's Matthew Moule said, "Acoustic GRG Products Ltd are proud to offer ‘Flux’, the new acoustic wall panel system from Friends of Wilson. This exciting, design-led product is suitable for use in any space that requires acoustic control.

Today we launched on Architonic!

Happy New Year! and for starters in 2012, we're excited to announce the launch of Friends of Wilson's product showcase on Architonic - the design industry's leading independent resource site.

We're priviliged to be showing our products alongside other leading brands and great designs, and look forward to the raised profile and interest it will no doubt bring.

Flux panels installed at Trump International Beach Resort Hotel, Miami

We 're thrilled to report the installation of our Flux acoustic wall panels in the reception of the Trump International Beach Resort in Miami, Florida this month.

We were commisioned by  Michael Wolk Design Associates and worked with them on this prestigious project to create a unique, visually rich feature in deep tonal colours of transluscent browns, metallic and coffee.

The panel configuration was sourced straight from our design tool, which makes it easy for designers to try out different designs and colours.

Feature in October's FX Magazine

Friends of Wilson has been showcased in FX Design magazine's "One to Watch" series, which puts the spotlight on promising new designers and consultancies.

Friends of Wilson is a collaborative agency and we work closely with our manufacturers, clients and other designers. Everyone plays an important role, so it was only fitting that our studio dog, Molly featured prominently!

We're delighted to have been invited to join the  AIS  as part of thier Kickstart scheme, which helps bring new businesses on board.

Accepted for Starter for 6 programme

After a rigourous application procedure and pitch, FoW has been accepted to take part in the enterprise training programme Starter for 6 from March to August 2011.

Starter for 6  supports up and coming entrepreneurs from the creative industries across Scotland who display innovative and sustainable business ideas.

We look forward to bringing our enthusiasm to the programme and all the positive experiences and it will no doubt bring.

Maison et Objet exhibition, Paris, 21-25 January 2011

We're very pleased to have been accepted to exhibit at Maison et Objet exhibition in January as part of the BEDG (British Export Design Group) who approached us at Tent London.  

We're hoping to have space to show both ThreeForTwo with its recent revisions, and new design Split that we're currently working on, watch this space for more info...!

We launched at TENT London! 

We successfully launched Friends of Wilson and were delighted to get such a great response to our product, ThreeForTwo!

Using feedback from the show, we've revised the panels which now include fully tested acoustic materials, and will be contacting everyone who left their information with the complete spec shortly.

It was great to be part of the show. We really enjoyed the fun yet professional vibe of TENT, so would like to thank the organisors and all our friends, old and new, who visited the stand and helped make it a memorable launch for us.

Visit us at TENT London - Stand F25! 

As part of the London Design Festival, Friends of Wilson will be exhibiting at TENT London for four days to launch our new design consultancy, and our first acoustic product, ThreeForTwo.

We'll display a full sized version of ThreeForTwo, and be able to talk about your project's specific needs.

SCET Technology grant award

After a thorough application process, we're delighted that Scottish Centre for Enabling Technologies has awarded FoW a grant for innovation. SCET is a great organisation that helps businesses develop innovative ideas for their products and services.

In our case, we'll work alongside two of their senior technologists to develop this website, and to add a unique element to it, our "slider app" which will alllow clients to view a wide range of our designs in a fun, informative and interactive way.

FoW moves to a new studio!

We have moved into a brand new studio in the Out of the Blue arts complex in the heart of Leith, Edinburgh alongside over 80 other small creative businesses and artists. 

Lots of natural light and a great cafe, very happy to be in our fabulous new home and underway to make lots of exciting creative things happen!

Sketchbook exhibition at Welcome Home Gallery, Glasgow

Lynne Wilson's sketchbooks were included along side those of other designers, artist and poets in an exhibition organised by the Scottish creative social networking site Central Station, and curated by PodcART. The event took place at the  Welcome Home Gallery in Glasgow.

Lynne Wilson gives talk at Edinburgh College of Art

Lynne Wilson talked to design students from all departments at Edinburgh College of Art about her design process and the value of creative thinking and research as means to achieving integrity in design.

Lynne studied Product Design at ECA, where she designed and brought her first product to market, the Loopy Table, in production since 1996.
